The
Honeywell House, home of the late Mrs. Mark C. Honeywell, is a nonprofit
cultural center owned and operated by the Indiana
University Foundation. The residence offers a variety of artistic,
civic, and educational programs ranging from solo recitals and chamber
music concerts to lectures and outdoor activities.
Continuing
the Honeywell tradition of hospitality, the management offers excellent
banquet services as well as overnight accommodations. The
ambiance lends itself to small conferences, corporate retreats, and special
social events, including weddings, reunions, and family celebrations.
Inspired
by classic themes of French architecture,
the exterior of
the house conveys an elegance that sets the tone for the 14 room interior.
The
house features such architectural elements as Teak parquet flooring, Italian
marble mantles, and an historic Ormolu stair
railing. While the architecture invites admiration, it is the outstanding
personal collection of antiques which distinguishes Honeywell House.
